Science Day

Students enjoyed a day filled with scientific observations and experiments. Students experienced a visit from Amazement Square's blow-up planetarium to learn about outer space. Classes conducted experiments with Mrs. Brown that included creating lava lamps and exploring a symphony of colors. 4-H gave presentations on buoyancy, types of rocks, and even let students dissect owl pellets! Students  had a scavenger hunt to view all the science projects and participated in science-themed lessons and readings in class. What a wonderful day of wondering!

Author Visit

TES just wrapped up their One School, One Book program by reading Summer of the Woods by Steven K. Smith. Each child received their own signed copy of the book and participated in daily reading and comprehension activities. To culminate the program, the author came for a visit to teach students about his books, writing, and the joys of being an author!

St. Jude Fundraiser

The students at Temperance recently participated in their annual math-a-thon to raise money for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Since 1993, TES has raised over $35,000. The students collectively raised over $3,000 this year to donate to this cause. The 27 students who participated were rewarded with an ice cream party, and the class with the highest totals enjoyed a bingo party. Contrats to 2nd grade for winning the bingo event! The student who raised the most money was Mariah, Mercer.
